Shale and Gas, how its helping the US
The fact is that oil and gas production is increasing due to a wonderful new type of technology called Fracking. Fracking, or Hydraulic fracturing which the technique is often called use to extract shale. The technique deploys pipes down into the earth that cause cracks to release gas. The gas is further extracted by pumping large amounts of water into the ground to force the gas out. In addition to gas production increases tens of thousands of jobs are created. In Pennsylvania now you can get a job driving a truck for $60,000 with a $2,000 signing bonus. In fact the industry as brought Pennsylvania 57,000 jobs in a single year.
Some critics do have concerns about fracking and how the water used in the fracking process might contaminate public ground water. This however is not a probability considering fracking is implemented so far underground. In addition there is plenty of rock and the fracking fluids would have to return from depths of 5,000 to 8,000 feet underground.
